Montessori Tides School will adopt an all organic snack policy starting school-year 2015-2016.
This policy corresponds with Montessori values emphasizing care of self and environment.
We consider it in the children’s best interest to have high quality food, and we know now that organically grown food is also better for the environment.
As Montessorians we greatly care about both, and our actions model our values.
We understand that this is different from previous years and will require some adjustment.
Your own garden, Farmer’s markets, Native Sun and local food systems may all contribute to successful implementation.
Our children will inherit the Earth. Our actions help protect and respect what we value, and will contribute to a clean, healthy sustainable earth.
