Autumn is here and all around us!

Ms. Tanya works with a toddler to create an Andy Warhol-inspired painting using cut peppers.

“When children come into contact with nature, they reveal their true strength.” — Maria Montessori

Why are toddlers so successful in a Montessori environment? The primary goal of the Montessori philosophy is: “Help me do it all by myself.” Maria Montessori discovered that all children have an intrinsic motivation to learn and be independent. When given the opportunity, they can learn to take care of their basic needs at an early age.

The Montessori method recognizes that toddlers learn by doing and incorporates a sense of order and accomplishment into their everyday life. They classroom invites children with hands-on activities that promote autonomy and refine the muscles in the head to eventually hold a pencil and write.

A toddler paints a picture of a pumpkin in Ms. Tanya’s class.
