As many of you may know, our mission statement here at Montessori Tides School addresses both children and families. Helping establish strong family ties is a dynamic role of a Montessori School. The fanning into this flame, is an important aspect of Montessori Tides and one we do not take lightly; rather we indulge in it with great honor and esteem.
Chaos, challenges, and the business of life can accompany our greatest families. Sometimes families can even find themselves drifting apart because of the many obstacles coming against time together. It doesn’t take long to recognize we live in a world that does not always promote strong family ties, but here at Montessori Tides we create space for the greatest families alive.
Bringing family ties into our activities is simple and enjoyable. We try to foster our families by creating events where all family members can join and leave strengthened, smiling, and with a stronger sense of connectedness with each other and with other families within our school community.
We have two up-coming events to help keep the ties.
April 4th is our annual Spring Festival. This is a short event jammed packed with fun and activities for the whole family. The children particularly get excited about any event their family is invited to participate in. Sharing these moments adds to the child’s self-esteem, further bridges your child to the value you place on them and their education, and links all family members to an integral part of their child’s development.
April 14th is an event off school campus. To celebrate spring, we’ve reserved Dutton Island Park for our Spring Nature Walk and Camp Out. We will have crafts and activities for all ages, with a potluck dinner followed by a lantern walk and a camp out. The best part of all, you get to decide if your family will come for the afternoon, come for the dinner, or pitch a tent and spend the night. We simply created the space; you cater the event to meet your family needs. When we connect our families together outside the school environment, our children are cultivating relationships in a new way, making them more valuable.
Creating family ties is important to us because we know it’s important to you. We will see you there!
