Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful winter break with your families. We are really getting back into the swing of things here in the classroom and enjoying every minute of it. We ended our first day back from break by making a huge time line with our 1,000 chains and counting to the year 2017. We marked the year 2017 with a beautiful star for a special lesson the following morning. When the children arrived that morning, the star was placed on a blank time line which began our lesson of the BC/AD timeline.
We are looking forward to studying the five Vertebrates, their external parts, body functions, and the five kingdoms of animals this month. Along with a lot of zoology, we will continue studying land and water forms, and doing some mapping work.
The children are enjoying doing money work and receiving many new math lessons. We will be exploring fractions this month also.
If you happen to be cleaning out your craft closet and come across these items, we would be happy to have them donated to our classroom.
- Modeling clay
- Shoe boxes
I thanked you all for your support at the book fair in last month’s newsletter. Our classroom is reaping even more wonderful rewards now. So, I feel that it is fitting to thank you again! THANK YOU!!!!
