The children have enjoyed opportunities to choose their favorite work over the past month. This is especially exciting for children who are new to the school or classroom this year. They have had lessons on the relationships between the Earth and the Sun, botany, and zoology.
Over the next month, the children will research holiday traditions in small groups. Each child will have the opportunity to bring in something from home (food, games, special attire, etc.) that represents the tradition they are studying. Research, writing and presentations will take place during school.
The children have enjoyed the presentations they have given the last two months, so we know they also will love using this skill to present about winter cultural celebrations.
Holiday Party
Our Holiday Party will be Dec. 19 from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The children will do a short performance with Upper Elementary, and then we will have a small snack to share. A parent or guardian must be present during the part, and dismissal will follow the party. We look forward to celebrating and seeing you all here!
