MTS has once again partnered with Kirk Farber, founder of F.A.C.E. (Fitness and Character Education) for our 2nd annual MOVE-A-THON. This exciting event ended on March 27th as a WIN/WIN for both students and Montessori Tides.
MOVE-A-THON results are in and WOW what an event!!
With 31 elementary participants and pledges, we raised $1,401 and will be able to provide the Toy Lending Library at Wolfson Children’s Hospital with more engaging materials, and enhance Montessori Tides School!
During the 4 F.A.C.E. sessions, Upper and lower elementary students’ did jumping jacks, agility movements, and work with punching pads toward a goal of 1,000 “moves” per student. Naturally MTS students surpassed the goal, and Lower Elementary finished with 2001 movements (average of 500 per class), while Upper Elementary committed to over 4,000 movements (a lot more jumping rope and jumping jacks per class) over the 4 weeks of the MOVE-A-THON.
Below are a few special standouts.
- Congratulations to Ben E. for having the highest amount of pledges and total donations.
- Congratulations to the students who spoke publicly at the celebration assembly. Lower Elementary talked of “giving” and upper elementary talked of “respect”.

A BIG thank you to Mr. Kirk who instilled fun, fitness and giving through this program. The smiles you see are not just on their faces but they are in their hearts. Each student is growing in self-confidence and determination as they “move” into their future.
And a HUGE thank you to all our parents and friends who made a donation, and supported our school.
In the event you still have any outstanding pledges, you can still turn them in to the school office.
