We had another successful Historical Halloween at Montessori Tides School! Upper Elementary saw the likes of Orville Wright, Marie Curie, Steve Jobs, Frank Gehry, George Washington, Bruce Lee, Clara Barton, Sofia Ionescu and Gaston Leroux in their classroom on Halloween. Nellie Bly and Isadora Duncan made appearances, as well!
We all learned so much from these reports and enjoyed sharing them with parents, grandparents, siblings and the rest of the school.

Welcome, Rocky Leehonjie Angus!
We are thrilled to announce the arrival of our class pet, Rocky Leehonjie Angus! He is a Mongolian gerbil, and he’s already become an important member of the UE community. As we learn more about the needs of gerbils, we would welcome donations to maintain and upgrade his habitat.
With the help of students, we have created a wish list on Amazon.

Goat Yoga Field Trip
By Scott, a 6th-year student
On Nov. 4, the Upper Elementary class went on a Little Peeps Farmer for a Day field trip! There, we partook in numerous activities, such as goat yoga and goat milking! Goat yoga was favored among students and parents. We did goat yoga in the morning, when the weather was cooler, and it was pretty fun!
We each got in groups, and we were assigned goats to feed milk and do yoga with. The goat assignments didn’t work out due to the goats wandering off, and, in the end, my personal group went from Reece to Spook. I’m not complaining. Spook is sweet :).
After doing some good old goat yoga, we went to the chicken coop! At the chicken coop, we partook in an activity known as chicken catching. I was too scared to go chicken catching, but others did and seemed to enjoy it. We got some epic photos of parents being freaked out by the chickens flying away from their arms!
The farm may be small, but it sure had many things to do! Next on the agenda, there was goat milking! Again, I was too scared to milk a goat. (I’m not a farm person.) Then, for the finale… LUNCH! I LOVED LUNCH :D!
So, that was the UE field trip to Little Peeps Farm!
