Montessori Tides School wants to educate parents on the philosophy and application of Montessori education. Throughout the year, we hold three different parent education nights. Our second education night – “Hands On Montessori” is January 24th at 6:30pm. This event is purposed to bring parents and teachers together to strengthen the collaborative efforts that are currently in place.
Montessori is the ideal way to learn, but it works best when these 4 factors are in play:
- The completion of the child’s three-year cycle
- The home and school are in sync with one another (modeling of language, respect for oneself and others, practical life skills to foster independence)
- The parents understand Montessori and see their child’s education as long-term rather than expecting instant results or changes, and respects the teachers’ knowledge and training
- The attitude of the parent: staying positive in spite of bumps in the road, volunteering at the school or observing, and encouraging your child
As a parent, you can see that you are in charge of many of these factors. Our education nights are designed to help you better understand those factors and equip your family with the tools needed for a successful Montessori Tides journey.
We welcome any feedback or questions you have from the education nights and our resource library is always available to parents.
