With summer vacation right around the corner, NOW is the perfect time to start planning your family vacation.
For most, taking a trip with young children may not sound too relaxing and pleasurable at first thought. In retrospect traveling with children may present some very real challenges. So how can you ensure a happy and relaxing vacation for one and all? Kathy Graham calls her approach The Three P’s – Planning, Pacing, and Parenting!
After you view the video below, these tips are sure to start you on your way:
- Planning – You can engage the child, let the child be part of the planning process, and think of ways to make the trip concrete. Connecting with the child is what creates the memories. This connection begins in the planning process.
- Pacing – Enjoy quite time together. Create empty spaces where you have no real agenda. Follow the pace of the child.
- Parenting – Make time for parents. Remember, this is your trip too!
