We are wrapping up our studies of Antarctica and the Timeline of Life. We will begin our studies of Australia; land and water formations; the fundamental needs of humans; and units of measurement.
The children have enjoyed learning about the external parts and body functions of animals. We have begun our transition from birds to mammals. They love to research animals, write reports, create posters, and present their research to their peers. Our environment is filled with lots of wonderful, focused work!
Our Spring Festival will be Thursday, April 18, at Tall Pines Park on Ninth Avenue N., west of Penman Road. An adult is required to attend this event with each child since dismissal is from the park.
The children will hunt eggs, plant herbs, make fruit kabobs, and dye eggs. This is a fun outdoor event that fosters our Upper and Lower Elementary community.
We will send home a list of supplies that your child will sign up to bring. Please let us know in advance if your child will not attend that day.
We are in need of shoeboxes for dioramas. If you have any extra, we would love to have them!
“The land is where our roots are. The children must be taught to feel and live in harmony with the Earth.” — Maria Montessori
