As we do each year, Upper Elementary began the school year with the story of the beginning of everything: the Big Bang.
We start off macro, learning about how the universe, galaxies, our solar system, and planets are formed, to learning about the layers of the Earth, land and water forms, clouds, and then biomes of the earth. Now that we’ve established those enormous concepts, we begin to learn more about the continents themselves, as well as the biodiversity in each.
As we “give the child the world” to learn about, we allow their curiosity to lead them to their research on various subjects. There’s no end to the possibilities of learning in our class!
