MTS gets movin’!
Montessori Tides Children’s Foundation is thrilled to announce a fall MOVE-A-THON in partnership with Kirk Farber, founder of F.A.C.E.(Fitness and Character Education). This exciting event will:
- Raise funds to support continuing teacher education.
- Raise funds to help purchase math materials for the Upper Elementary classroom.
- Raise funds to enhance the outdoor environments.
- Keep our students focused on fun and fitness.
The MOVE-A-THON will be held during the elementary students’ F.A.C.E. classes on Nov. 10, Nov. 17, Dec. 1, and Dec. 8. Students will jump, jog, and jab (do jumping jacks, jump rope, work with punching bags, and do lots of agility games) toward a goal of 1,000 “moves” over the course of those 4 sessions.
Each participant received a pledge sheet to collect pledges “per move” from friends, neighbors and family members. Toddler and Primary parents also have the opportunity to give a flat rate pledge to a class. Participants will collect pledges. Please start collecting pledges now and turn the pledge sheet into your teacher or the office by Tuesday, Nov. 22. Funds will be collected Dec. 12-16 after “moves” have been tallied. After you complete the 4 F.A.C.E. sessions and your “moves” are tallied, we will provide you the total amounts your sponsors owe in order for you to collect the funds. Download participant pledge form.
Average “moves”: 800-1,000. Maximum “moves” counted for pledging: 1,000
Example pledges: A penny per move = max of $10, a nickel per move = max of $50, a dime per move = max of $100. Flat donation amounts are welcome.
During the holiday program on Dec. 21, the students will present the funds they have raised to the Foundation. They will speak publicly to teachers, parents and fellow students about the spirit of giving and what it means to them.
Flat donations are graciously accepted. Please enter the sponsor information below.
